In 2009, whist working for a local charity, I realised that it was hard to spread news and information about our services to the local community. A colleague in another area of Lancaster suggested using our local community magazine. I realised there wasn’t one in the area, so I decided to start one. 2 Years later my husband John retired from Hewlett Packard as European Marketing Manager to assist running the magazine.
Our readership has increased considerably over the years and we knew we needed to print more copies to keep up with demand. Demand was spreading to towns and villages further afield and so 6 years later, in Summer 2015 the @Lancaster Community Magazine has become Lancaster District Magazine. With the continued ethos of promoting and celebrating everything local, the area, local businesses, activities, news and information.
