Local Campsites around the District

HOWGILLS HIDEAWAY

At Howgills Hideaway we offer quiet secluded accommodation in our static caravans, Valley View and Fell View and our Glamping Pods, Whins End, Fell Head and Brown Moor.

Each caravan is generously equipped for up to 6 guests each, and the pods accommodate up to 4 guests.

All have the magnificent Howgill Fells on their doorstep and fabulous views over our farmland to the beautiful Lune Valley and beyond.

Howgills Hideaway lies in a special place nestled on the edge of both the Yorkshire dales and The Lake District making it a great place to explore both National parks. The Howgill Fells are renowned for their beauty , described by the celebrated fellwalker A Wainwright as “ the sleeping elephants”. The energetic amongst you can follow one of his walks, through our farmyard, up onto Fell Head, from where, on a clear day, you will be treated to fantastic views of the Lakeland Fells and beyond. Or perhaps a gentle stroll down the lane and along the banks of the River Lune is more appealling.

The market town of Sedbergh is just under 4 miles away, well known for its Public School, it has a small selection of local shops, pubs, cafes and takeaways, and is now England’s official Book Town. Kendal – 11 miles to the west offers a much larger shopping centre, leisure facilities, cinema and numerous places to eat out. Beyond Kendal lies the Lake District town of Windermere (20 miles from the farm) where you can take a cruise on the lake or visit the home of Beatrix Potter. Hawes – 20 miles to the east is home to the famous Wensleydale Cheese Factory and Dales Countryside Museum.

Each caravan has it’s own peaceful garden with furniture and the pods have private decks, so you can unwind and share stories of the day just passed, or maybe plan the next adventure.

Relax, unwind and let us look after you for a little while, call 07866 448748 or send us an email at [email protected].
