Local charity set to host annual ball on the shore of Lake Windermere

Local charity CancerCare is set to host a unique charity Ball event on the shoreline of Lake Windermere.

CancerCare’s The Ball on the Lake will take place on Friday 6th March 2026.

The Ball on the Lake promises to be one of CancerCare’s biggest and best Ball events yet, owing to the location of the Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa, a luxury Lake District hotel  that enjoys views across Lake Windermere and beyond.

On arrival, guests will be welcomed into the Low Wood for a drinks reception, followed by a three-course meal and an auction with a range of prizes, including one-off local experiences.

Taking to the stage to entertain guests will be the local party band, The Seals.

It costs £1.9 million per year to keep CancerCare’s doors open to local people impacted by cancer and bereavement, and the charity’s annual Ball is one of their most prolific fundraisers.

Tickets cost £80 per person, with a discount available for a full table of 10.

CancerCare’s Head of Fundraising and Marketing, Claire Mason, said: “We have returned our anticipated Ball to the South Lakes area by popular demand. The location of the Low Wood is sublime, and our evening will reflect this; we promise an elegant and fabulous night of fun, celebration and vital fundraising. We hope supporters, past and present, will join us, as well as those local people who are just looking for a great night out in aid of a local charity.

“Each year, our Balls get better and better, and tickets are never around for long. Please join us at The Ball on the Lake for a memorable evening celebrating CancerCare and all we’ve achieved, while raising extra funds so we can have a successful 2026 supporting local adults and children affected by cancer and bereavement.

“If you have any questions or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact us via email: [email protected].”
