Telescopes in the park for the solar eclipse
Local people got a perfect view of the partial solar eclipse in Williamson Park with two large telescopes courtesy of Lancaster University.
Dr Julie Wardlow from the School of Physics and Astronomy set up the telescopes at the top of the Ashton Memorial so people could view the eclipse without damaging their eyesight.
The university has its own observatory on campus but these telescopes are used for school visits and community events.
