A weekend of music, colour and celebration – Lancaster

Step inside our musical wonderland; the vast Williamson Park with a towering background of the Ashton Memorial folly. An idyllic space within the heart of Lancaster, brought to life by bands and DJs for a weekend of music, colour and celebration. Join us at the second edition of Highest Point, as we kick off festival season on 17th – 19th May.

Few festivals boast a location as glorious as ours. With acres of park and woodland and spectacular views across Morecambe Bay to the Lake District fells, and our seven areas will host everything from music to theatre. We’ve worked to create a truly diverse lineup, and this year the main stage, which is located underneath the amazing Ashton Memorial, will host disco royalty Sister Sledge, indie-rockers The Zutons, Welsh heroes Feeder and hip-hop authority Grandmaster Flash.

BBC Introducing will be returning to the Chris Glaba memorial stage, bringing with them some of the finest up-and-coming acts from the area and beyond. Expect to fall in love with the sounds of Cabbage, Charlotte OC, Anna Calvi and Twisted Wheel as you discover your favourite new artist.

If you’re into your dance music, dust off your dancing shoes and get ready to party with the likes of Nic Fanciulli, James Zabiela, London Elektricity, General Levy and many more, some of who will be playing at The Dell – our natural amphitheatre deep in the woods.

Gin & Disco will be making its debut at Highest Point, and will be the first stage you see as you arrive at the festival, with views across the lake and a waterfall tumbling down in the middle. Groove masters Greg Wilson, Hifi Sean and Get Down Edits will providing the beats for a sun-soaked two days at one of our most impressive and unique areas.

Our family-friendly ethos has led us to design a Sunday with the little ones in mind, alongside more amazing music for the adults. ‘The Big Family Day Out’ will have interactive theatre, DJs, storytelling, arts and crafts, free entry to the butterfly house and mini zoo, face painting, live music. Camping has also been introduced for 2019, so pitch up at Lancaster Cricket Ground for the full festival experience – with no worries about how to get home.

We pride ourselves on having a festival which allows you to take the experience at your own pace, with plenty of relaxing grass areas and food stalls, juxtaposed near some awe-inspiring stages, dip in and out of the action and make it your own.

We welcomed over 22,000 happy people in our first year, and whether you’re returning or exploring Highest Point for the first time, we’d love you to be part of our upcoming adventure. See you in the park.
