Amy-Jo – HEADLINE SHOW
18 year old local singer and songwriter Amy-Jo Clough is heading for a great summer with the release of her new EP and headline show at the Lancaster Grand Theatre.
Fresh from supporting Scouting for Girls, Stooshe and Rick Astley whilst also performing alongside The Vamps, Professor Green and Pixie Lott, Amy-Jo is hoping to impress with her new sound and catchy tunes.
Amy-Jo says ‘I’ve been writing songs for a long time now and I’ve been experimenting with different genres and styles but this EP is completely me. I think I’ve found myself in my music. Listening to these songs will be like reading my diary; the lyrics are so honest and an account of all the thoughts in my head’.
Amy-Jo has adopted more of an RnB/pop style having been influenced by soul music from an early age. ‘I’ve played with many genres but this just fits and feels right. I’ve been listening to Lauryn Hill and classic RnB jams and I guess I’ve connected with it’
This isn’t Amy-Jo’s first EP; In fact her last EP ‘Innocence’ is still being streamed daily on Spotify and selling copies on iTunes. However, Amy-Jo feels this is a more mature EP and would like to thank her producer Jon Rasmussen for guiding her towards this new sound. ‘Jon is incredible. I go to him with a song I’ve written on acoustic guitar and he turns it into a masterpiece. I wouldn’t have this EP if it wasn’t for him and he deserves so much recognition’
Amy-Jo is pleased to have written all the songs on the EP, recorded the guitar parts and even harmonised on each of the songs. ‘I love how the songs have turned out, Jon lets me have a huge say during the production and has taught me so much’
