Celebrating our Arnside Mysterious Trail launch with 10 FREE trails!

A new outdoor adventure experience is inviting people across north Lancashire and south Cumbria to step outside, explore their surroundings and solve a mystery along the way. Mysterious Trails has launched a series of interactive walking trails across Arnside, Silverdale, the Lakes and the wider local area, combining fresh air, local discovery and immersive storytelling in a way that appeals to all ages.

Each trail transforms familiar streets, coastlines and countryside into a live-action mystery to solve. Participants follow clues, meet a cast of unique suspects and piece together a story inspired by local history and legends, all whilst enjoying some of the region’s most scenic locations.

The concept was developed over two years of testing and refinement by founder David, a former teacher who had become increasingly concerned about declining fitness levels among students and a growing disconnect between families in an increasingly digital world. His aim was to create an experience that would bring people together in a meaningful, active and engaging way.

Extensive trials across the local area attracted participants ranging from children as young as seven through to active retirees in their seventies. Feedback has consistently highlighted the experience as fun, accessible and genuinely different.

“It’s like a computer game – but in real life!” said Sam, aged 8.

“An amazingly cheap, interactive and full afternoon of excitement and discovery,” commented Lauren, a mum of three.

“The trail brought the whole family together, and we discovered things about our area we never knew,” added Miles, a 65-year-old grandfather.

Designed to be self-guided with up to 6 people, each trail includes carefully produced video introductions, clue-based challenges and a final solution reveal, allowing groups to move at their own pace while fully immersing themselves in the story. By the end of the experience, many participants are surprised not only by how far they have walked, but by how much they have discovered about their local area.

With 8 trails now available, in Lancaster and the Windermere area with more to come this summer, Mysterious Trails offers a new way for families, friends and visitors to experience the outdoors together.
