A evening of remarkable stories – Sept 29th

Lancaster Arts and Lancaster Litfest welcome Sir Ranulph Fiennes for an evening of remarkable stories and anecdotes with friend and fellow explorer Sir Chris Bonington. The talk will commence at 7pm, Thursday 29th September at the Great Hall, Lancaster University.

Ranulph Fiennes is a record-breaking explorer, whose on foot expeditions to the furthest reaches of the earth have pushed the limits of human exploration and challenged Fiennes to overcome his greatest fear: heights. A somewhat surprising fear for an experienced mountaineer, Fiennes admits his fear of heights is so great, he’d rather send his wife up a ladder to clean the gutters than do it himself.

As part of the launch of his latest book ‘Fear’, the talk will engage with Fiennes’ personal experiences of fear, what it is, why we experience it, and how he has overcome his own. During the evening he will be interviewed by renowned mountaineer and writer Chris Bonington.

Each ticket holder will receive a complimentary copy of ‘Fear’, along with the opportunity to have it personally signed by Sir Ranulph at the end of the talk.
