This unique and magical family experience starts at the head of the village, as visitors follow the winding track through the woodland of the Ingleborough Estate Nature Trail, past the sprawling lake, the money tree and “Aunt Bessie’s Grotto”, before emerging at the imposing entrance to Ingleborough Cave, first discovered by brave Victorian explorers in 1837.
An Underground Winter Wonderland
A magical journey beckons, but not before ‘Elf & Safety’ has fitted you in an appropriate hard hat! Santa’s Elves then lead visitors into an underground winter wonderland, as they tell the story of Christmas at Ingleborough Cave, before the twists and turns bring you to Father Christmas and his vast table of presents!
New BOOK NOW online!
This year, for the first time since Santa first started visiting Ingleborough Cave over 30 years ago, online booking is available for those wishing to visit. Manager Andrew Jarman said “the move to an online booking system will allow us to improve the experience for visitors, and it will put an end to queues”.
New warm Yule Tide Yurt
As part of a conscious push to enhance visitor experience, the “Yule Tide Yurt”, complete with festive log burner, will also be erected. This will give visitors somewhere warm to relax whilst they wait for their Santa’s Grotto experience to start.
