Food Glorious Food, Free of Charge
The Lancaster Food and Drink Festival is back. Taking place at Lancaster Leisure Park over the bank holiday weekend, this three day event showcases only the very finest artisan producers in the North West.
On Saturday 30th April, Sunday 1st May and Monday 2nd May from 12noon – 6pm, Lancaster Brewery’s garden will be transformed in to a foodie paradise with 50 high quality local growers, foodies and respected food retailers showcasing their tasty treats in marquees and gazebos.
This year the festival is sponsored by Miller Homes and organised by the events team at Lancaster Brewery. Amongst all the regular favourites of hot street food, tastings, samples, bars and live music, they’ve added children’s activities including an indoor soft play area. During the event, all the regular attractions on the park will be open as usual. The festival is open from 12 noon to 6pm. Chris Duffy, Manager at Lancaster Brewery explained “We listened to all the feedback from our visitors and exhibitors last year, so we are opening earlier this time. Opening in the afternoon gives our foodie fans chance to eat their lunch or tea with us, as well as allowing regular visitors to the leisure park the chance to enjoy all the attractions before the event opens. Of course, the usual brewery hospitality will be in full force”.
Now in its fifth year, the event showcases only the highest quality producers. There will be displays of meats including fish, game and beef, baked goods such as bread, biscuits and cakes as well as many spices and oils. For refreshment of the liquid variety, there will be a fantastic selection of locally brewed beers, ciders, fruit juices, natural cordials and locally ground coffees to quench your thirst.
With free admission, free parking, free samples and tasting, and high quality locally produced food and drink, this world class foodie heaven has plenty for any palette. Directions: M6 junc 33/34 Follow the brown Lancaster Leisure Park signs.
