Galloway’s Morecambe Bay Walk set to return this summer!

Sight loss charity Galloway’s is ready to make up for lost time by launching its famous Morecambe Bay Walk.

They are calling on people to join them and ‘Guide to the Sands’ Michael Wilson. As the charity devotes a weekend to the iconic walk, which will take place on Saturday 31st and Sunday 1st August 2021!
The eight-mile walks will be starting at 10.45am on Saturday and 11.30am on Sunday. Both start in Arnside and end in Kents Bank.

Galloway’s can take 800 walkers across the weekend and over the years, the event has raised tens of thousands of pounds.

Charlotte Carnell, events fundraiser at Galloway’s, said: “This year, we know there is a real buzz about communities getting together after events like this were postponed last year.

“So we are so excited to be able to get this walk up and running again as we know that many people are keen to join us. We have had so much support over the years for this walk and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back.’’
“The walk in 2019 raised £16,582. That’s why we were so disappointed that restrictions last year meant we couldn’t go ahead as planned. As events like this one is one of the many ways we raise funds, to allow us to continue to support local blind and partially sight people in Lancashire and Sefton. However, safety is of paramount importance to us so we are working hard to ensure that the event can take place safely and will comply with any Government guidelines in place at the time of the event.’’

There are only a limited number of places on our walks, so it is advised to book early to avoid any disappointment.

To sign-up simply visit or call us Galloway’s 01772 744148.

Galloway’s really hopes that you can join us for what is shaping up to be an amazing weekend but if you would like any further information, then please don’t hesitate to contact Charlotte (Events Fundraiser) by email [email protected] or by phone on 01772 744148.
