In a fusion of the King’s Coronation and Eurovision Song Contest, the Big Family Day Out theme this year is the kings and queens of pop, and guests are encouraged to come along dressed up as their favourite pop icons.

The Big Family Day Out will be a day full of fun and laughter, with a huge number of events and activities for the whole family to enjoy together. There is something for everyone, from live performances and tribute acts, to craft zones and entry to Williamson Park’s Butterfly House.

Taking over the main stage, conga champions, Black Lace, will be bringing all the hits including Agadoo, Superman and Music Man for the family to sing along to, as well as the Magic Queen paying tributes to everyone’s musical heroes including Harry Styles, Queen, Adele and Ed Sheeran.

For those wanting to try music for themselves, the Dell Stage will be showcasing the likes of Shlomo’s BeatBox Adventure, where attendees can become sidekick to world-record-breaking beatboxer, SK Shlomo, experience a Poetry Explosion with Mark Grist, plus take part in a drum workshop with Off Beat or get involved with Brass Bands with Honk.

Inside the Ashton Memorial will be a craft zone for attendees to find their creative side, with options to create a screen-printed bag or a magnificent story jar to take home. It’s also worth a visit itself just for the incredible view across the whole of Lancashire from the top!
