A gentle ramble following a scenic stretch of the Lancashire Coastal Way.

Starting from the picturesque little harbour at Glasson Dock, you make your way uphill to the interpretation panel on Tythebarn Hill which affords a view over the saltmarsh to Sunderland Point. From here, the route heads to the coast, where the Lancashire Coastal Way footpath will lead you past the enigmatic Plover Scar Lighthouse, the ancient Cockersands Abbey and Cockerham Sands. Keep a lookout for hares sitting bolt upright in the fields as you then head inland along lovely bridleways and country lanes to access the towpath of the Glasson Branch of the Lancaster Canal. Following the canal back to Glasson Dock you will hopefully see lots of water birds and wild flowers as you pass three sets of locks, Christ Church and the Glasson Marina.
