Lancaster Litfest is back for 2022!
The 43rd Lancaster Literature Festival: Tuesday 8th – Sunday 20th March 2022
Litfest is back for 2022 with its first hybrid festival! Come along in person or watch online and enjoy discovering new works, meeting local and national authors, and discussing topical issues.
This year’s theme is ‘This Place, This Planet’. Celebrated environmental campaigner Dr Vandana Shiva will give the first ‘Lancaster Environment Lecture’ whilst our Nature events will delve into themes of climate change through fiction, poetry, photography and discussion.
The festival will tackle challenging subjects including Lancaster’s prominent role in the Atlantic Slave Trade, and comedic ones too – as Matthew Dooley’s graphic novel Flake describes the struggles of rival ice-cream salesman in a Lancashire seaside town.
Our Poetry Day and Storytelling events are always popular and there’s even a chance for you to get involved: take part in writing and publishing workshops, sign up to the Big Read Challenge or submit your own poetry and photography! Don’t miss our fantastic International Women’s Day event (8th March), as Rachel Holmes introduces Sylvia Pankhurst: Natural Born Rebel.
Join us in Lancaster – virtually or in person – for this lively literary festival!
Tickets from £5 – book now: www.litfest.org.
