Lancaster Women’s Cycling Group
Lancaster Women’s Cycling Group aka LWCG was founded by Susan Lawrenson in response to wanting to learn to cycle and have a female space to cycle within and support her. It now has in excess of 100 members.
It is an inclusive, friendly and supportive group based in the Lancaster area with a strong ethos of riding together and never leaving anyone behind. We welcome all female cyclists from Lancaster, the surrounding areas and those visiting the area. Members range from complete beginners through to confident cyclists who compete in Sporting events.
Club rides are mostly run on a Sunday from the Millennium Bridge in Lancaster, occasionally in the daytime and in the lighter months
rides also run in the evening. The group is run by four admins : Jacquie Jarrard, Theresa Russell and Kelly Seward, who take it in turns to lead rides that range from beginners, intermediate through to challenging. Ensuring all members needs are catered for. Members are also encouraged to ask for rides they would like and/or to post their own rides.
Many members of the group are also British Cycling Breeze Leaders – www.letsride.co.uk/breeze
