Registered Charity Number
Galloway’s Society for the Blind aims to enable people with a visual impairment to gain greater independence and minimise the effects of living with reduced vision. We support over 7,000 people a year from our hubs in Morecambe, Preston Chorley & Southport.
Like any other major life event vision loss can bring feelings of loneliness, helplessness, anxiety and depression. We are committed to working with visually impaired people to realise their potential through our many programmes of activities and support.
Living with sight loss can be challenging. But we are here to help people face the future with hope and confidence. Our support services and activities are shaped to benefit you and your friends, family and others around you.

Galloway’s relies on donations and legacies for the majority of its income and every year we need £1 million to help people living with sight loss.
Right now, in Lancashire and Sefton, there are over 50,000 people living with sight loss. Almost half of these people feel moderately or completely cut off from their communities and only ¼ of those of a working age are in employment. With your help, we know there’s so much more we can do to make our community a better place for those living with sight loss.
If you have been affected by sight loss or would like to know more about our services, volunteering, fundraising or supporting our work financially then please contact us via the details below.
