We are pleased to be part of Lancaster Cricket & Sports Club so have access to the main Clubhouse facilities .
OUR COURTS ARE BACK IN ACTION AFTER BEING RESURFACED AND THE NEW MINI COURT WILL BE PAINTED EARLY NEXT YEAR. THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO OUR MAIN SPONSOR SPORT ENGLAND INSPIRED FACILITIES FOR THEIR FUNDING FOR THIS PROJECT.
We have 3 astro turf floodlit courts and a small tennis clubhouse, and by Spring 2016 our new mini orange tennis court will be completed.
In 2011 we were voted Community Club of the Year for Lancaster, and in recent years have been supported by funding from a wide range of sponsors including Sport England, Lancaster City Council, Galbraith Trust, EDF, Lancaster University Community Fund, Adactus Housing, United Utilities, Lancashire County Council and Cumberland Building Society.
We are always keen to extend our membership and welcome new enthusiastic people, including beginners.
We are affiliated to the national Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) and have active and successful Mixed, Ladies, Men’s and junior teams in three local leagues. In July 2015 our Club achieved LTA Tennismark accreditation, which is a guarantee of minimum quality and procedural standards.
We especially welcome juniors and have a very active junior programme, which includes coaching, Matchplay, teams and competitions . Pat Clelland , our Junior Organiser, has received Lancashire Tennis Volunteer of the Year and Lancashire Sport Lifetime Achievement awards. Other Club award holders are coach Eden Parkinson (Lancaster Coach of the Year and Susan Lucas, Lancashire Sport Lifetime Achievement award 2015).
We hold FREE Open Days every year in spring and summer and welcome any new players.
Since 2014 and the building of our disabled toilet, we are also pleased to be able to offer wheelchair tennis.
Please do contact us if you want any more information, or pop down to one of our Club adult social tennis nights on Friday evenings (from 7 pm onwards).
