Award winning Leighton Hall is the lived-in house of the famous furniture making Gillow dynasty. A visit to Leighton is an opportunity to unravel the fascinating past of this ancient, Lancashire family, and wander through the spectacular grounds and pretty gardens. As well as the house and grounds, Leighton has a children’s play area, caterpillar maze, plant conservatory and charming tea rooms.
Children can explore a woodland trail and are encouraged to get involved – there are no roped off areas. Home to Mr and Mrs Gillow Reynolds, Leighton is very much a “lived in” house, brought to life by the enthusiasm of the guides. Leighton Hall can be found just outside Carnforth, nestling in a bowl of parkland against a backdrop of English Lake District hills.
The Hall is open to the general public from May to September, but pre booked groups and private parties are welcome all year round. Parking is free.
