Summer Fundraising Fete 3rd July

Leonard Cheshire support disabled people to live their lives the way they choose, come along to their fundraising fete in July.

Oaklands in Garstang, is part of Leonard Cheshire Disability Disability. The victorian home offers residential and respite care to 30 adults. We are always trying to enable our residents to achieve their full potential and participate in the local community.

Residents regularly attend a variety of local activities including wheelchair dancing, attending a gym, swimming, gardening, attending church services as well as local theatre productions and gardening.

We are currently fundraising for a new greenhouse that will have full disabled access, this will enable us to expand the current gardening club. The therapeutic value of this activity, as well as social aspect, increasing self esteem and respect is invaluable.

It will also mean we can join in with the community aims of ‘Garstang in Bloom’ helping maintain and improve our environment and grow as much of our own produce as possible. We look forward to seeing you at our Summer Fete on July 3rd when we will be raising money for the greenhouse.
