Preparations are well underway for the 2016 festival which runs from 23rd April to Fair Day, on Bank Holiday Monday 2nd May. The giants are being given an overhaul and there are plans afoot to bring in some new elements to well loved festival.
This year the main theme is Explorers of land, sea and air, and there will also be categories for traditional/moving and topical scarecrows and the school competition.
LOTS OF EVENTS FOR ALL THE FAMILY
Over the ten day event the village will host the scarecrows everyday. A series of other events including the 10k road race ( over 16s only), car boot sale, home made refreshments in the Wray Institute, Classic cars, vintage and collectables market will also take place. The Scarecrow Parade – and prize giving will be held on Friday April 29th including quirky performances by Mr Wilsons Second Liners (check them out on You Tube ) – and various other local bands. On the Bank Holiday Monday, May 2nd it will be Wray and Caton Moor Fell Race ( Junior and Senior Event), and WRAY FAIR on school field with Birds of prey displays, BMX stunt riding, Croix Du Nord displays and many other attractions.

TRAVELLING TO THE EVENT
We should also like to remind visitors that at the time of going to press, Gressingham Bridge is sadly still closed after the Flood damage in December 2015. This is likely to be most relevant, if you are travelling from Carnforth via over Kellet. We were delighted with the ingenuity of many of the displays in 2015 which were varied and ingenious as you can see from the pictures. We look forward to welcoming you to the village in 2016. Set your Sat Nav for LA2 8QG and follow the signs for parking on entering the village.
