Last month I had the pleasure of taking a Designer Travel “On Location” Trip to the stunning 5* Gennadi Grand Resort in Rhodes. Some hotels look beautiful in the brochure, and then some exceed every expectation the moment you arrive. After spending four unforgettable days at the five-star Gennadi Grand Resort in Rhodes, I can confidently say this is one of those rare resorts that genuinely lives up to the hype.
From exceptional dining and outstanding customer service to luxurious accommodation and a real commitment to sustainability, this is a resort designed for travellers who appreciate the finer things in life without compromising on authenticity.

My Room: Junior Suite with Private Pool & Sea View

I stayed in a Junior Suite with a private pool and sea view, and it was everything I could have hoped for. Waking each morning to uninterrupted views across the Aegean Sea before stepping straight into my own private pool felt wonderfully indulgent.
The suite was contemporary, spacious and beautifully designed, with calming neutral tones and thoughtful touches throughout. Having your own private outdoor space and private pool elevates the experience completely, making it easy to relax in total privacy whenever you want a break from the main resort.

A Surprisingly Spacious Resort

One of the things that impressed me most was the incredible sense of space.
The resort features 300 rooms and suites, with more than half offering their own private pools, yet despite the hotel operating at around 95% occupancy during my stay, it never once felt crowded.

There was no early-morning rush to reserve sunbeds, no overcrowded pools and no packed beach. Whether relaxing beside one of the pools or enjoying the beautiful stretch of beach, there was always somewhere peaceful to unwind. It’s a testament to the thoughtful design of the resort that it can accommodate so many guests while still maintaining such a calm and luxurious atmosphere.

A Culinary Experience Worth Travelling For

If you’re someone who plans holidays around food, Gennadi Grand Resort won’t disappoint.
The resort offers an impressive collection of restaurants showcasing everything from authentic Greek cuisine to Mediterranean favourites and international dishes, all prepared using high-quality local ingredients. Every meal felt fresh, beautifully presented and full of flavour.

The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly Edesma Fine Dining.

This award-winning restaurant offers far more than simply dinner; it’s an immersive gastronomic journey through Greek culinary history. Each course tells a story, combining traditional flavours with contemporary techniques in a beautifully curated degustation menu. It’s easy to understand why Edesma has received the prestigious FNL Best Restaurant Award.

What really sets Gennadi Grand Resort apart is the range of complimentary experiences included during your stay.

Guests can enjoy a fascinating stargazing experience, where expert guides introduce you to the wonders of the night sky beneath the crystal-clear Rhodian stars. It’s peaceful, educational and surprisingly magical.
Food lovers can also take part in a traditional Greek cookery class, learning to prepare authentic local recipes and taking a little taste of Rhodes home with them. Both experiences are included for guests.

For something a little different, there’s also the opportunity to join a ceramics painting class for just €10 per person, a wonderful way to create your own handmade souvenir while supporting local craftsmanship.

Genuine Greek Hospitality

While the facilities are outstanding, what I’ll remember most is the people.

Every member of staff I encountered was warm, professional and genuinely eager to help. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble, and the level of customer service remained consistently exceptional throughout my stay.

It’s this authentic Greek hospitality that transforms an excellent hotel into one you’ll want to return to.

One of the most impressive aspects of Gennadi Grand Resort is its genuine commitment to sustainable tourism.
