Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway
Since 1875, the railway has connected Eskdale mines with the former strategic Roman port of Ravenglass. Today, the Railway is an award winning heritage visitor attraction and Lake District icon, living up to its “must do” reputation for all ages. Enjoy a seven mile journey (approx. 40 minutes) from the coastal estuaries, ascending through ancient woodlands to the foothills of England’s highest mountains, the Scafell range (3,210ft).
