Messy Gallery: The Extraordinary Ordinary
Messy Gallery: The Extraordinary Ordinary
Following last month’s sell out of ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ Lancaster Arts’ popular family workshops continue with Messy Gallery: The Extraordinary Ordinary in the Peter Scott Gallery at Lancaster University on Saturday 29 April at 10am and 11.15am.
Join artist Dave Hulston to discover how we can create extraordinary effects from ordinary things, as we turn familiar objects into an artist’s toolkit.
From exploring the printmaking possibilities of household utensils and tools, to building large-scale constructions from the contents of the recycling bin, this workshop uses unconventional materials (and a lot of PVA) to experiment, improvise and get creative!
Harriet Hill Payne, Assistant Curator, says ‘We always look forward to welcoming new and familiar faces to our action-packed Saturday morning family workshops. Lead by professional artists, Messy, Noisy and Wriggly Gallery are designed to support our smallest visitors in their creative exploration and expression. With hands-on, imaginative – and occasionally very messy! – play, there’s something for curious and creative minds of all ages to enjoy.
The Messy Gallery family workshops are suitable for 0-5year olds and their grown-ups. Tickets cost £4.50 each with free refreshments. Babes in arms are free.
