Lancaster Canal Work / Restrictions

The Lancaster Canal Trust and Waterways Recovery Group are carrying out management work between Well Heads Lane, Hincaster Horse Path and Tunnel area, near Kendal, in late October.

Working in cooperation with Canal and River Trust, English Heritage, Forestry Commission, SLDC and Parish councils, this is part of the advance work to eventually re water this section of canal and restore the endangered wildlife corridor habitat fast disappearing in our modern world.

Consequently the tow-path will have restricted access during that period and please obey any instructions you are given for your safety.

Officials will be on hand to give help or answer any questions.
